川西 郁美 | Ikumi Kawanishi

香川県生まれ、広島県育ち、愛知県在住。
名古屋芸術大学大学院同時代表現コース卒業後、多数の作品を制作。

色彩とリズミカルな画面構成に惹かれ、草花や自然をモチーフに、様々な画材で歌うような踊るような絵をテーマに創作しています。

私にとって描くことは、歌うことであり、踊ることです。

飾っていて、見るたびに気持ちが上向きになるような、わくわくしてくるような絵を描きたいと思っています。

きらきら、わくわくしたもの。
希望や可能性、優しさや愛情。
そんな美しいものだけ集めて閉じ込めたような、この世界にある『良いもの』を信じることができるような、そんな作品を作っています。

◾️作品の裏に紐を取り付けています。ダルマピンなどで壁に飾ったり、ピクチャーレールに引っ掛けて飾ることもできます。

◾️作品はアクリルの他、でこぼこしたモデリングペーストや、キラキラの絵の具、オイルパステルなど使ったりしています。お手元に届いたら、ぜひ間近でじっくり見てみてください。


Ikumi Kawanishi is a Japanese painter born in Kagawa, raised in Hiroshima, and currently based in Aichi, Japan.
She graduated from the Master’s Program in Contemporary Expression at Nagoya University of Arts.

Inspired by color and rhythmic composition, she creates paintings of flowers and nature using a variety of materials, including acrylic, oil pastel, and textured media. Her works are known for their joyful atmosphere and musical sense of movement.



For me, painting is like singing and dancing.

I am drawn to color and rhythm, and I paint flowers and elements of nature as if they are moving, singing, and dancing across the canvas.

My hope is that my paintings bring a sense of excitement and uplift the viewer’s spirit every time they are seen.

I gather sparkling, joyful things—hope, possibility, kindness, and love—and try to hold them gently within each painting.

Through my work, I want to create images that help people believe in the goodness that exists in this world.
